The Treeline Tavern

The Bestiary of Veilmoor is a living document. Entries are added as creatures are confirmed, disputed, or reclassified. The Pale Scribes maintain the Archive. The Watchers file the field reports. What follows is the current state of knowledge — which is to say, incomplete.
Described consistently across more than 100 witness reports. A man-sized figure with massive wings and glowing red eyes, capable of flight without visible wing movement. Appeared in the months preceding the Silver Bridge collapse. Whether warning or curse remains the central question. The Watchers have a position on this. They keep it to themselves.
View Mothman designs in The Armoury →Half-man, half-wolf, full curse. The affliction lasts 101 days and passes to whoever breaks the silence. The bayou keeps its secrets well. Locals will confirm the creature exists and immediately change the subject. The Green Folk know where it runs. They leave it alone.
View Rougarou designs in The Armoury →Not faeries in the diminutive sense. The Sidhe are an ancient and proud people who operate by rules older than morality. Neither benevolent nor cruel by nature. Visitors who stray onto their paths, accept their food, or overstay an invitation rarely return unchanged. Approach with respect, an offering, and an exit plan.
View Sidhe designs in The Armoury →Spiny-backed, red-eyed, and perpetually misunderstood. Reports describe puncture wounds and drained livestock across Latin America and the southern territories. The creature itself maintains it is basically plant-adjacent since it only takes the blood. The Bestiary Keeper has filed this under Disputed pending further dietary clarification.
View Chupacabra designs in The Armoury →Lion's body, eagle's head and wings. Guardians of gold and precious stones, fiercely loyal to their hoards and merciless to those who would steal from them. High to thieves, negligible to the honorable. The Mythwrights consider the Griffin a reliable indicator of nearby treasure. This has led to several unfortunate field incidents.
